This is a birthday card I made for one of the managers in my department at work. When asking her what she liked/wanted on her birthday card her reply was "The two things I love – that you would see at my home and at my desk at work – is beach stuff and skulls. I’m a little odd in the sense that I love beachy colors, but I also am a very black skull type person. My boyfriend and I love to travel. We love the beach and we’re also really into old, historic (sometimes haunted) hotels. I LOVE whales, but am no longer a fan of orcas after being traumatized during a whale watching tour and knowing how mean they are when attacking other whales to eat them. ☹ Humpback and grays are probably my favorite. Other than that, I love to read and relax and enjoy an adult beverage while on vacation with my guy!" Well, this sort of surprised and excited me! I don't pull out my skull embellishments very often, and to get to combine it with the beachy thing, yippee! LOL
I was sure to add some swirls, one die cut and a fun blingy swirly. Since that is also the challenge theme for Creatalicious. I kept the upper layers fairly CAS, but went crazy "under the sea" on the lower layers. I added dies of sea plants, a sea turtle, netting, and added skull beads, shells, tulle, a bow and more pearls. I wish I could do pictures that would do the card justice, because it looks way cooler in person! LOL
Thanks for looking! I can't wait to see what swirly goodies you choose to use over at Creatalicious Challenges!
