It's a Boy

My roommate has a co-worker who had a baby boy.  She asked for a card to give him and his wife.  I went in and made 2 cards for the occasion so she could choose...then I just gave her one that I chose.  LOL  This is not the one I gave her...But I do love how it turned out!  This one was an idea I saw on Pintrest and had to give it a try.  I didn't use any stamps, no sentiments even, I let the paper speak for itself.  The lack of a sentiment is why I gave her the other one...it does say congratulations on the inside...but still...

For this card I used cookie cutter circle dies and a banner die, the other stuff I just cut on my own.  I added one gem, a couple of buttons and a fun little pacifier/binky/dummy that was tied to some hemp twine.

Cleaning With Vodka

Here we are with another weekly challenge over at Catch The Bug Challenge Blog.  The theme this week is a bingo challenge.  Here is the board:

I went with "Sentiment, Sparkle and Bugaboo Image".  I used the Stella - Clean With Vodka image.  I made this card for my new roommate who loves her vodka and hates cleaning (however, she is doing ok keeping the living areas clean).  I just thought the image was perfect for her...she agreed when I gave it to her, plus she sort of looks like Stella...not meant as an insult.  LOL  I added a die sentiment, the cupcake image came fromt he paper pack that the paper I used came from.

Celebrate Fall

Find Some Tequila

So, this is a new favorite 'When Life Gives You Lemons" phrase!!  My 50th birthday is fast approaching (Oct 23), so needless to say, taquila isn't as big of a friend as it once was.  LOL  Here we are with a Humor Me Wednesday Challenge.  Did you know that September 21st is International Day of Peace...I'm sure some tequila could bring us all peace, especially when life gives us lemons!!

The image I used for this card is Frame it - JJ - Life Gives You Lemons.  I kept this card very simple by using some fun DP and just added a few gems and a strip of yellow paper.

I love books, but love you more

Okay, I love this sentiment so much!  I'm an avid book listener, yes I know I wrote listener.  I love audible; especially the romance package!  Being a crafter I love to take the time most people would spend reading, making cards!  But, I also listen to my books when I'm cleaning, at work,driving, in bed...I find it very relaxing!

This fortnight over at Incy Wincy Designs the challenge theme is "Back To School/Children", we have two great sponsors Little Blue Button and Cute as A Button - fun they both have the word Button in their names!  I decided to play with images from both companies.  I created the sentiment myself and used it on both cards.  I also kept them both very CAS... 

On my first card I used a Little Blue Button image called Student-Sophie.  I just added a few different layers and some gems.  I did put some Glossy Accents onto her eyes, just for a little texture.

For this second card I used an image from Cute As A Button called Nothing Like A Good Book.  I added some gems, I drew the stitching around the entire thing and added some Stickles for the texture.

Lazy Days Are Over

Here we are with another weekly challenge over at Catch The Bug Challenge Blog.  The theme this week is "Back To School".  Because I have no kids in school and no one I could make a back to school card for, I tried to keep this make as close to the theme as possible.  This would be great for a teacher returning to work after a summber break.  I used the image called Spring Window.  I created my own sentiment to go with it.  I kept this very CAS, added some Glossy Accents to the lady bugs and some black gems to the four corners.

My Fake Plants Died

Here is my make for the Catch The Bug Challenge Blog's weekly challenge for this week.  The challenge theme is week is "Anything Goes".  For my card I used the silly Grumpy Gertrude - Fake Plants image.  The sentiment comes with the image.  For this layout I used two different edge punches.  I added some Glossy Accents to her glasses and watering can.  My finishing touch was the blue bow.

This image and sentiment is from a retired/closed store called Skipping Stones Designs.  It's a fun acrylic stamp set.  For this card I used the sketch from the current Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

I added several layers, some flowers, gems and a ribbon.  I used some Glossy Accents on her coffee cup.

I forgot to post this one...  This month's Progressive Freebie for Limited Runs has some cute little back to school images, but they can work for "just because" too.  I used two of hte images, the worm and the apple.  I added a googly eye to the worm, just to give it some extra "character".  I made the sentiment.  I added a bow and some gems.

If There Is No Chocolate In Heaven

Every Wednesday Bugaboo tries to release or re-release a new image.  This one is called Ruby-No Chocolate.  Having a man in my life who loves chocolate as much as most of the women I konw, I had to make this card!  LOL  I chose to use some cookie cutter dies to cut out the image.  I used the technique where you have to cut out part of the image in order for the smaller die to fit (I'm sure the technique has a name, I just have no clue what it is called).  I added some fun clud dies as well.  As my finishing touches I added a black bow and some black gems.

Birthday Gift Card Box

Cleaning W/Stella

Here is my first Bugaboo post as a Full on Design Team member.  I have a been a Guest for a few months and was invited to stick around!  Yay!!  This card is for the Stella Says Sketch Challenge.  This is a fortnight challenge.  Here is the sketch:

For my card I used the hillarious image called Stella - Clean With Vodka.  Rather can circles I went with squares, since that is how this comes.  I used some fun scallop dies and added a flower, strip of ribbon and three small gems.  I used some Glossy Accents on the bottles, her glasses and her earrings.  I added a touch of Stickles on her hat.
