Make New Friends

For all of those back to school challenges that started after school started (here), I thought I would make a book mark!  One of the hardest things for kids in the beginning of the school year is making friends (sometimes).  So, I thought I'd use the song lyrics from a song I had the kids sing in Girl Scouts.  Make New Friends, But keep the old, One is silver and the others gold.  A circle is round, it has no end, that's how long I want to be your friend.

I used this adorable pre-colored image from Digital Delights called Mermaid Samantha.  I love that she is holding on to the "gold" friend.  I added some lace and ribbon, then added some glossy accents and glitter gel pens and Stickles.  Super fun!

It's All About Love

Here is another image I chose as one of my prizes from Sunflower Designs.  I flipped the image and made it look as if his eyes were open rather than closed, and went with a lot of white on white on this card.  I started with the basic sketch over at Sketchy Colors (turned it into a rectangular card rather than a square, but other than that, I followed the sketch.  I added some string pearls, ribbon, dies and gems, two different embossing folders, the dot one for the very back ground and the snowflake one for the circle inside (from the sketch).  I added some silver stickles for snowflakes and as the snow on the ground and on the tree.  I used chalk on the image.  The sentiment is from Create With TLC.

A Flower's Advice

I won over at C.R.A.F.T who was being sponsored by Sunflowerfield Designs.  I got to pick four images of my choice.  This was one of the images I picked - Hope.  The three sunflowers on the side are from Fred She Said's Sunflowers & Thankfulness set.  I used this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2's sketch to make this card.
